My name is Bianca Esposito, and I was recently married on July 24, 2010. Like many brides, I began my wedding planning journey with one thought in mind-"to have the wedding of my dreams". I quickly came to the realization that temptations were all around me. Wedding shows on television filled my dvr, my magazine rack was filled with 12 dollar issues of the latest bridal publications, and I had catalogues from vendors of products that I didn't even know existed. To this day I still do not understand the need for many of those products.
A few months into my planning process, I came to grips with the fact that I was headed in the direction of depleting our entire savings account, which had initially been started in hopes of owning our first home. Luckily, my groom-to-be swooped in and rescued us from a life of ramen noodles and paying renters insurance.
My wedding planning mind set was altered. I began to harness creativity that I didn't even know I possessed. Instead of buying the 12 dollar issues of magazines, I checked out books from the public library and purchased used magazines for $1. (Only then did it occur to me that bridal magazines are about 80% advertisements anyway.)
